Magical Places of Natisone Valleys, Torre Valleys and Cividale del Friuli

The areas of Cividale, Torre Valleys and Natisone Valleys are strictly connected to water …

Natisone River and its sources, Torre River, Judrio River, Kot Waterfall, Cukula Waterfall, the castles of Partistagno, Cuccagna and Zucco, Castelmonte and the monumental chestnut tree, the Chiesetta del Redentore (Church of the Redeemer) at the top of Mount Matajur are just few examples of the places having something magical. Magic connects the numerous local legends such as the story of Queen Vida and Antro’s Cave, mythological figures such as Krivapete, Lintver, Scrat and all those traditions as Pust, the local Carnival, which kept its own typical masks, and more.

The celebrity of the territory is also due to the fact that it was tragically involved during both World Wars, which left much evidence of their violence and of an essential and economically poor world, even if it was at the same time full of solidarity.
